John Casey
I have been in San Diego for five years. in that time I have met my partner Marcella and together we have our little mate Sophia. How did I get here?
Well, I chefed my way here while chasing fish. I took my love of both and cooked my way into the wheelhouse.
My road to San Diego was not direct. I was born on the banks of the Mississippi River. Right where Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri come together. (the original west coast) after growing up on that river, I found myself cooking at a resort in Alaska. At The world famous Waterfall Resort on The Prince of Wales Island, I discovered sportfishing as a career. I spent my free time as a guide for crew and racked up my sea time running around the islands in the resort’s 28′ Northriver boats running twin outboard engines. I still spend a couple month’s there each summer as a world-class Salmon guide
I have been a main crew member with Ultra sportfishing and Pescador sportfishing out of 22nd street landing in San Pedro. Both of these are 50′ vessels with twin inboard diesel engines. Fishing out of LA has given me experience in target species such as White Seabass, Yellowtail, and Tuna; plus whatever we can find hanging around the pinnacles or under the kelp patties. I have also spent time running second as a fill-in on bigger boats such as the Freedom, the Thunderbird, and the Outrider. the largest being 92′.

Having fun on our lovely San Diego Bays is what i’m all about. Soaking up the sun and sights. Private special occasions are my specialty. Why get out on the water with a crowd. Lets get out on the water privately, and let me show you the San Diego you’ve only seen in photos.
Grew up in Minnesota as part of a large tight-knit water loving family. Moved to San Diego in 1994 chasing a job as many before me. Fed up with the market and pay I opened a bar and restaurant in San Diego and owned it for 15 years before selling. I have a lovely wife two wonderful children and 5 grand children. My wife an event specialist and health coach. Being by water was always a part my life growing up. Our family always had a boat and during summers I was more on the water then off. Being around water so much I learned to captain a boat when I was just 13. I started this company in order to get more people actually using there boats. It’s my belief I’ve done just that.
I have been operating boats since I can remember. Growing up I piloted the families 36′ Cruiser, then the 50′ houseboat and finally the 60′ Trawler. I purchased my first 32′ Cruiser when I turned 28 and have owned and skippered many yacht’s since. I have done deliveries around the world and been to Hawaii and back more time then I can count. I am ready to help you get off the dock and out on the sea.
